Congratulations to our good friends, Steve and Deb Zeller, of Parley Lake Winery in Waconia, MN. The results are in for the 2010 International Cold Climate Wine competition and two Parley Lake wines brought home the gold. Parley Lake Winery is a relative new-comer to the Minnesota wine scene but its attention to quality is starting to really get the attention and rave reviews of Minnesota wine-lovers.
Doug happened to be enjoying dinner with Steve when the results came in and we have had the pleasure of seeing Parley Lake Winery take root in the Minnesota wine scene. The Zellers have been a great source of ideas for us at the Historic Hutchinson House B&B in creating its warmth and ambiance. Deb is a gifted artist and has allowed us to display many of her works at the house including “Essence of Blue Boy” (or “Creepy Blue Boy” as Doug calls it), one of her first bronze works, and many examples of her photographic work.
If you come to Faribault for a visit, let us know and we might be able to get our hands on a bottle of one of Parley Lakes award-winning fine wines.
